Coastal Splendor at Sunset Cliffs, Point Loma

Coastal Splendor at Sunset Cliffs, Point Loma

There’s never a time when I don’t enjoy being a tourist in my own city, but it gets even better when we have family from out of town visiting. Recently, we visited Point Loma for a stroll along lands end at Sunset Cliffs and Cabrillo National Monument.

Here’s a selection of my favorite photos from the day.

Most of these shots are all from the Sunset Cliffs area. Only the last one is shot from Cabrillo National Monument. If you haven’t been there before, it’s worth a visit. Not only is the history very interesting, but it’s possibly one of the best places to see so much of San Diego all at once. And, with North Island Naval Air Station right below you and Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery right next door, it’s easy to feel very patriotic here.

One of my most popular photos, the Point Loma Lighthouse, was shot here years ago on a cloudless evening during Santa Ana conditions, making the dusky sky gradients more vibrant than usual.

Landmarks and attractions
This shot is available in my Destinations > California art gallery if you’re interested in a print or other wall art.

If you think I should add any of the new photos above to my for sale art galleries, let me know.
